Yes, Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) is the most recognized accounting qualification across the globe. It has the wide scope and acceptance in Kuwait as well. with the increasing demand of accounting professionals in Kuwait, ACCA is becoming the pioneer qualification.
The average salary of ACCA in Kuwait is 4,800 KWD and 72,000 KWD annually. It also depends on various factors like previous experience, job position and industry.
The cost of pursuing ACCA really depends on some factors like exam fees, tuition fees and study materials. It cost around KWD 132 to KWD 1,109 per paper.
Enroling in ACCA is quite simple, you need a minimum of 3 GCSEs and 2 A-Levels in five different subjects including English and Mathematics.
ACCA is challenging but very achievable with steady study. In June 2026, pass rates ranged from 89% (Business and Technology) to 39% (Advanced Audit and Assurance). Most Strategic Professional papers pass at 39% to 51%, so the final level is the hardest. Plan around 200 to 300 study hours per exam and pass each paper with a 50% score.
No, not for most papers. Since March 2026, ACCA has ended remote exams, so students in Kuwait must sit Applied Skills and Strategic Professional exams at an approved exam centre in the March, June, September or December sessions. The three Applied Knowledge exams can still be booked on demand at centres all year.
Not through ACCA alone. Kuwait’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry licenses auditors, and only Kuwaiti nationals can hold a licence. Candidates need an accounting degree, five or more years’ experience, KAAA membership and a pass in the Ministry’s local CPA exam. ACCA members can still work in audit firms and lead finance teams.
Yes. ACCA’s practical experience requirement asks for 36 months in a relevant accounting or finance role, and it can be gained with any employer in Kuwait. You also complete nine performance objectives approved by a workplace supervisor. Many students build this experience while studying, so they qualify soon after their final exam.
ACCA’s new syllabus starts in 2027, with the first exams in July 2027. It adds content on AI, sustainability and leadership. Students in Kuwait don’t need to resit exams they have already passed, because ACCA maps existing passes to the new structure. Entry requirements and exemptions stay the same.
