You can study ACCA from Sharjah with Mirchawala’s live online classes, recorded lectures, mock exams and 24/7 tutor support. Most students start at Applied Knowledge after A Levels or an equivalent school certificate. You sit ACCA’s computer-based exams at an ACCA-approved exam centre in the UAE, and most students finish in 3 to 4 years.

Mirchawala’s Hub of Accountancy has taught ACCA since 2009 and is an ACCA Platinum Approved Learning Partner. Students in Sharjah join the same live classes as our students in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and across the GCC, scheduled for UAE time, so you can study from home or around a job.

Why Study ACCA in Sharjah?

Sharjah sits next to Dubai, and many Sharjah residents work across the two emirates. Accounting, audit and tax roles there increasingly ask for a recognised professional qualification. ACCA fits that well:

  • Recognised internationally. ACCA is a UK professional body with members in around 180 countries, so the qualification travels with you if you move to Dubai, elsewhere in the GCC or abroad.
  • Built around IFRS. UAE companies report under IFRS, the standards ACCA’s financial reporting papers teach.
  • Relevant to UAE tax work. Since the UAE introduced VAT (2018) and corporate tax (2023), employers need staff who understand tax and compliance.
  • Flexible. You choose when to sit each exam, and Applied Knowledge exams can be booked on demand, so you can study while working.
  • A degree along the way. Students who complete Applied Skills can earn a BSc (Hons) in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes University by also submitting the Research and Analysis Project.

These are on-demand computer-based exams, so you can book them when you are ready.

  • Financial Reporting (FR)
  • Audit and Assurance (AA)

  • Two of four options: Advanced Financial Management (AFM), Advanced Performance Management (APM), Advanced Taxation (ATX) and Advanced Audit and Assurance (AAA)

How Long Does ACCA Take in Sharjah?

Most students take 3 to 4 years to pass all 13 exams. How long it takes you depends on:

  • Exemptions. A relevant degree, such as a BCom, BBA in accounting or ACCA-accredited degree, can exempt you from up to 9 exams. Check yours with ACCA’s exemptions calculator.
  • How many exams you sit per session. ACCA holds four exam sessions a year (March, June, September and December). Most working students take one or two exams per session.
  • Resits. Passing first time keeps you on schedule.

You also need 36 months of relevant work experience to become a full ACCA member. You can build it before, during or after your exams.

ACCA Entry Requirements for Sharjah Students

ACCA’s standard entry route asks for two A Levels and three GCSEs, or their equivalent, in five separate subjects including English and Maths.

  • Graduates: you start ACCA with exemptions based on your degree.
  • No qualifying grades yet: you can start with the Foundations in Accountancy (FIA) route, which has no entry requirements, and move into ACCA from there.
