The CMA (USA) course or certification is offered by IMA (Institute of Management Accountants) of USA, which is the worldwide association of accountants and financial professionals in business. IMA has 125,000+ members and global reach of 140 countries through 300 professional and student chapters.

Anyone can sit for the exam. There are no qualification requirements — you just need basic accounting knowledge.

After passing both the papers, you will need to submit 2 years work experience and Bachelor’s or equivalent degree to IMA within 7 years of passing both the papers to get the Certificate.
The US CMA is an advanced professional certification that measures the significance of accounting and financial management skills. This accreditation is mainly relevant for success in a business environment.
Each CMA exam part includes 100 multiple-choice questions and two 30-minute essay questions. You get 3 hours to complete the MCQ and 1 hour to complete the essays.
The essay section includes 8–10 written responses based on two scenarios, describing general business situations.
